Avanta Job Management System
Avanta is one of the larger providers of welfare-to-work services to the UK Department of Work and Pensions. Through personalised support and the integration of employment and skills training they have placed long-term jobseekers into more than 106,000 jobs and helped creating over 6,500 new sustainable businesses. Avanta offers similar services successfully in Saudi Arabia and Northern Ireland.
The current welfare to work programme was introduced in June 2011 replacing a number of programmes introduced over the years by the Labour government. The introduction of the programme was under political and public pressure, the deadlines imposed to the providers where challenging and the business rules of the new programme where very different from the programmes it replaced.
Avanta decided that they could only deliver on the new programme cost effectively by implementing a state-of-the-art system that would support the entire lifecycle of the programme.
A UK based Casemaster® reseller was selected as the preferred provider and they used Casemaster® to deliver the full solution in the tight time-scales and on budget.
Since, Avanta and the Casemaster® reseller have been working hard together to keep up with the changes to the programmes and to make versions of the system available to support the programme in Saudi Arabia and Northern Ireland. It is worth nothing that the multi-language / multi-locale capabilities of Casemaster® allowed a full Arabic version to be rolled out for Saudi Arabia.
The UK system has 1,000 + registered users working from 40+ offices. It integrates with a number of external systems among which are the DWP central payment system, the Avanta billing system and secure printing facilities.
The systems' datamodel has 150+ tables and the system has 550+ different screens supporting all Avanta's core processes.
The system uses SQL Server for main data storage and runs on a farm of Windows 2013 servers. It uses an F5 load balancer to offer scalability and redundancy.
